Curly hair can be really hard to maintain but you can get things like Professional Haircare Products – Shop – SEVEN Haircare to help you keep on top of your hair maintainence. It’s not impossible to keep on top of your hair care though either, you can easily look absolutely gorgeous when you take care of your home properly. A huge part of this involves using high quality tools such as a three barrel curling iron when styling your hair. Coming from a Latina who has curly locks I have probably tried all the products to make my locks soft, smooth, and frizz-free. After getting a request to write about my curly hair care routine I was so thrilled!
I hope all you Curly-Qs enjoy these tips and are inspired to wear your natural wild locks!
1. Hydrate your hair. Curly hair is often dryer then straight or wavy hair so you’re going to want to use a product that hydrates and moisturizes your locks. I use a hair masque once a week to keep my hair hydrated. My favorite is Pureology’s Hydrate Hydra Whip it’s sulfate free and restores suppleness in hair.
2. Wash with luke-warm water, and rinse with cold. It’s extremely important that you wash your hair with luke-warm water and NOT hot water. Hot water helps rinse away oil and dirt, but it also strips your hair of it’s natural oils which will cause it to be dry and brittle. After you condition your hair rise with cold water I often stand under the cold water for about 2-3 minutes so that it seals in moisture from my conditioner. On days that I like to wear my hair curly I love to use Mixed Chicks clarifying shampoo and leave-in conditioner. It helps tame frizz and defines your curls!
3. Use a hair serum. I use different hair serums depending on how I style my hair. My favorite serum to use when I leave my hair naturally curly is Moroccanoil Treatment smells amazing and it leaves my hair soft, and shiny.
4. Use a Finger Diffuser. I know this sounds really funny, but using a finger diffuser helps dry curly hair faster while conditioning and moisturizing it, perfect for curly locks! I use one that came with my Hot Tools hair Dryer which you can purchase at Ulta or a beauty supply store. Negative ions decrease static and frizz while infusing the hair with shine. Defusing is seriously a must when I wear my hair curly. I flip my head upside down and hold the blow dryer with finger diffuser attachment 2 inches away from my head. Curl on!
