If you are looking for fun kids snack ideas these Caterpillar Fruit Kabobs are the perfect choice. When I made these for Olivia they were a huge hit and the great thing about these Caterpillar Fruit Kabobs are that they are healthy. She got so excited when she seen these little critters and I like making her fun food so that she engages and eats it.
To make them start with a wood skewer or a long tooth pick which you can find at any big box store or kitchen store, I found these at Smart & Final. Slide a grape on about 1/3 of the way down the skewer and stop. Then continue sliding the grapes down until they fill the wooden tooth pick.
Top with a strawberry as shown. I left the greens to give the caterpillar a little more character.
Next use a small bit of frosting to add sugar eyes to the caterpillars. I bought the Wilton sugar eyes in the cake decorating section and just used regular frosting to attach them to the strawberries. Aren’t they cute?! Almost too cute to eat.
