Hello my beautiful friends! As many of you know, I’m expecting my very first child. I’ve made it my goal to begin launching content that is relatable to pregnancy and the journey of motherhood. To me, motherhood begins the very minute you become pregnant and for some before that, and it never ends. You begin to nourish your body to get it ready for the preparation of a baby by taking steps to improve your daily life, whether it be by diet, nutrition, exercise, and even mental and spiritual preparation.
Jonathan and I had spoken about having children before we moved into together and got married, we weren’t planning a baby and we weren’t preventing it either. It literally just happened. I didn’t think I would get pregnant so easily since I’ve heard stories of women trying to conceive and having a difficult time. But I knew the very minute I was pregnant. The first sign was my missed period and then I broke out very badly the month of October which I was suppose to get my period. My breasts became extremely swollen and then I just knew that my body was working in overload to bring this baby to life and sure enough I took a pregnancy test and it came back positive. I announced it to Jonathan and we kept it a to ourselves until after I had my first OBGYN appointment. I remember going to my OBGYN Dr. Long to receive my very first ultrasound and then I heard her heartbeat for the very first time. It was extremely emotional for me to experience that moment. I thought to myself. “we have conceived a child and there is a second heart beating inside of me.”
Pregnancy is an amazing experience filled with lots of emotions. I’m sure that my next two 1/2 months left of pregnancy will leave me with many more new emotions which will be good and not to good. I’m so thankful to be blessed with this miracle of a child growing inside of me. I think so myself sometimes am I ready? Will I be a good mother? Will I be able to provide everything she needs and wants. I want to be able to give my child the world, as most parents do in a subtle way of course. I’m looking forward to learning each step of the way as my journey in motherhood continues.
A special thank you to my mother Sonia who has been so encouraging and been by my side each step of the way throughout my pregnancy, to Teresa Miranda my aunt who did an amazing makeup application for this photoshoot and to Sydnee Valdes for capturing the love and happiness in these photos. They say it takes a tribe well these women really helped me feel my very best when we captured these photos.
Here are my outfit details. Btw this dress is non maternity and I love it. Can’t wait to wear it again after pregnancy!
