Clothes have always been a big part of my life, hence my fashion blog. I’ve always felt that if I have the right clothes on I can achieve what I need to do throughout my day. If it’s workout clothes to go to the gym or a pant suit for my 9:00am meeting or even undergarments to make my dress fit nicely the right clothing helps me get through the day making me feel empowered and confident. Today there are 3.9 million women in the U.S. who are currently unemployed that’s a huge number that needs to change, I want help those women feel empowered and confident so to do so I’m participating in Vanity Fair’s buy one, get one, and give one event. Vanity Fair is currently partnering up with Dress for Success so for each bra you purchase you will receive one and one will be donated to Dress for Success® on your behalf to help a woman on her journey to economic independence.
Since 1997, Dress For Success has supported over 850,000 women who are in a transitional phase in their lives and working towards self-sufficiency. The international non-profit organization promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, career development tools and a network of support.
For a woman in need, a job can make a world of difference. Sometimes just having “a job” isn’t enough. It needs to be a job that you enjoy, as otherwise, what is the point? Working somewhere that will provide the employers with questions to ask employees about morale makes for a better work environment than somewhere that doesn’t care at all. This is what could make or break successful career women. My mother and grandmother have always taught me that as women we need to be able to provide for ourselves so getting an education and a career was really important to me as a young woman. I always wanted to be able to stand on my own two feet and I think women all over the world should want those very same things and feel confident to achieve their dreams in life.
