It’s officially Spring Forward. I’ve been looking forward to this since the start of the year. Since I work a 9-5 job I feel like my days are cut when the sunsets are early. Now I have more day time to hit the gym and workout and I’m loving it.
Recently I’ve attended a few classes like pilates and yoga that my gym put on all year round. Our yoga teacher is such an interesting woman – she recently told us all about her yoga teacher training and I was so fascinated by her story. You can find out more about yoga teacher training here.
With that being said, I thought that I I would share my favorite products that I store in my gym bag to keep myself looking and feeling fresh before, during and after I exercise. My workout of choice is a mix of yoga, running, reformer Pilates, and hiking. Which reminds me, if you are looking for a new hiking bag, you absolutely must check out this guide which features the best hiking rucksack according to Buyers Impact. One of my best friends recently bought herself a new hiking bag so she has inspired me to start looking too. For now though, shall we discuss my gym bag essentials?
Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo Spray
I can’t always wash my hair after a workout. So I opt of a dry shampoo spray. This will absorb any sweat from your hair and adds the needed volume you have have lost while working out. This is a must have!
When I choose to run I need good beat to listen to. That’s when my iPhone/iPod really come in handy. My top three artists on my playlist right now are Megan Trainor, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran (my boyfriends favorite right now also).
Dove Nourished Beauty Dry Spray Antiperspirant
Working out can make you feel and look great. However, if you sweat heavily, like I do, you can begin to feel sticky and begin to smell. Packing on an antiperspirant deodorant seems obvious. This Dove dry spray formula is great, it goes on instantly dry and is the first antiperspirant spray with ¼ moisturizer and keeps your odor in check.
No matter how many elastic bands I buy. I always seem to lose them. Keep a handful of them in your gym bag so you can throw your hair up in a ponytail when you are ready to hit the gym.
A good sports bra is a must. This zip front sports bra is perfect for running, boxing and high-impact workouts, it has a Body-Wick fabric that keeps you cool and dry, which is really important for me.
I drink water constantly throughout the day. To give my water an extra boost I like to infuse it with fresh mint, cucumber, lemon or berries. This Flavor It water bottle is perfect for infusing water.
I always like to have my yoga mat on hand just encase I need it for a class that I’m taking.
I love these particular Nike shoes for running. I wouldn’t recommend them for high intensity workouts though bc they don’t offer enough support for the arch of your foot.
