Disclosure: This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Latina Bloggers Connect and AT&T. All opinions expressed in this post are my own.
I’m so happy to be sharing my exciting news about a campaign I’m working on with AT&T and Latina Bloggers Connect! The best part about it all is that you can join in on the fun and help raise awareness with me.
Okay so you are probably wondering what this campaign is all about, so let me tell you… I along with a select group of #LatinaBloggers were invited by AT&T and LBC to bowl for a cause at the shabby Lucky Strike Lanes in Hollywood last night. They provided us with food, beverages, bowling shoes. Four ladies even went home with cool new cells phones, and we had our very own private bowling lanes! Now, I will be the first to admit that when it comes to bowling I am no expert! However, I do know that the shoes you are wearing can make all the difference. In bowling, proper footwork serves as the catalyst for a powerful bowl, and therefore you need a pair of shoes that facilitate fluidity of motion. You can check out a useful guide to some of the most popular bowling shoes out there here: https://skilledbowlers.com/bowling-supplies-equipment/best-bowling-shoes/. Who knows, a new pair of bowling shoes could be just what you need to secure a strike!
While we were there we all learned about AT&T’s #ItCanWait campaign and I took the pledge never to text and drive. It’s a cause that’s really close to my heart, and it is becoming an epidemic that needs some serious attention. More and more are turning to a car accident attorney after being involved in crashes as a result of using their phone while driving. The best case scenario is damage to you car and the worst is a potential fatality. Is it really worth it? Something has to be done. I am guilty of picking up my phone during a red light, glancing at it to respond to an email, and a text message from a friend, but let me tell you… It Can Wait. Just remember though, that even if you aren’t texting and driving, someone else might be. It’s really important that you drive defensively. Don’t just assume that everyone else is following the rules of the road. So long as you know that you are not at fault, then you’ll be perfectly fine. Don’t forget to get a lawyer involved (why not take a look at lamber goodnow as an example of a law firm you can use), as they can help you get the compensation you deserve, particularly if you are not to blame for the accident.
Here’s why:
- Every year, there are more than 100,000 texting-related car accidents. Wow! That’s a lot!
- Texting and driving is just as dangerous as drinking and driving. Who would have thought?
- 78% of teen drivers say they’re likely not to text and drive if friends tell them it’s wrong or stupid.
- 90% say they’d stop if a friend in the car asked them to.
- 93% would stop if a parent in the car asked them to.
- 44% say that they would be thankful if a passenger complained about their texting while driving.
I had an amazing time with my LBC family! Now my goal is to be an advocate and to help spread the word about the #ItCanWait campaign and help save lives.
Tomorrow, September 19 is Drive 4 Pledges Day, supporters like myself are called to help spread the word to our family, friends, and communities!
Here’s how you can get involved:
Take the pledge, speak up and remember not to text and drive!
- Now more than ever, they’re calling on people like me (and you) to join the movement and help raise awareness of the dangers of texting and driving.
- AT&T has launched an aggressive social media campaign to encourage everyone to take the pledge and share their promises with their friends via social media.
- Click here: #ItCanWait to place your pledge.
- Take the no-texting-and-driving pledge
- Share your promise with others via Twitter (#itcanwait) and Facebook atwww.facebook.com/ItCanWaitNoTextingWhileDriving
